FBI Releases New Images in Search for Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mother; White House Urges Public Aid

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released new, critical images in the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie, who has been missing for over a week under suspicious circumstances.

The newly recovered photographs, shared by FBI Director Kash Patel on social media, appear to show a masked individual wearing gloves on Nancy Guthrie’s property. According to the FBI, the images were captured by a home surveillance camera on the morning of her disappearance but were only recently recovered from “residual data located in backend systems” after extensive work with private sector partners.

“The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems,” Director Patel stated. “Working with our partners — as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department, which is leading the investigation with FBI assistance, has previously stated that evidence suggests Nancy Guthrie was taken from her Arizona home against her will.

White House Involvement, Public Appeal

The case has drawn attention at the highest levels of government. At a White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that President Donald Trump had personally reviewed the newly released footage.

“I was once again with the president. He and I were both reviewing the newly released surveillance footage from the FBI in the Savannah Guthrie case on just this heartbreaking situation with respect to her mother,” Leavitt told reporters.

She issued a direct appeal to the public from the administration: “The president encourages any American across the country with any knowledge of this suspect, to please call the FBI, who continue to assist state and local authorities who are leading this investigation on the ground.”

President Trump had previously spoken with Savannah Guthrie last week, vowing to provide federal resources to assist in the search for her mother.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities are treating the investigation as a potential abduction. The release of the images is a direct effort to generate leads from the public. The FBI and local law enforcement are asking anyone with information about the identity of the individual in the photos or with any knowledge of the case to contact the FBI immediately.

The family has appealed for privacy and information as the search continues.
